Appointments

appointment_1

The practice will always endeavour to book an appointment with your preferred doctor or nurse and, if this is not possible, will always explain why. By computerising our records it is now much easier for one doctor to continue the treatment started by another.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend, please inform us as soon as possible so your appointment may be given to someone else.

Long Appointments

A routine appointment is for 10 minutes. If you have a lot to discuss with your doctor please tell the receptionist, who will arrange a longer appointment. This helps to avoid delays to other patients.

Routine Appointments

These can be booked up to two days in advance with any available doctor.

Advance Bookable Appointments

These are special appointments for those people who need to arrange transport, need accompanying, or need that bit more time to arrange time off. These appointments can be booked up to a month in advance.

Same Day Urgent Assessment

If you feel a problem needs to be dealt with the same day, either by telephone or face to face, or you are unsure how important it is, our receptionists will take your phone number and our experienced nurse practitioner (Dennis Richards) will phone you back and arrange appropriate treatment.

Telephone Consultations

You can book to talk to a doctor without needing to come to the surgery. Simple queries can still be left with the receptionists for the doctor to answer as well.

Emergencies

If you are confronted by a serious problem such as severe chest pain or severe bleeding, call an ambulance (dial 999) before calling the surgery. The surgery emergency telephone number is 01527 879035. Please only dial this number in cases of genuine medical emergency.

Extended Hours Appointments

We offer extended hours appointments to all patients registered at Davenal House and Stoke Prior Surgeries.  These appointments are especially useful to patients that need a routine appointment and who may find it difficult to attend during normal surgery hours.

These are pre-bookable appointments only and are available on Thursday evenings until 19:10 at Davenal House.  Also Thursday mornings from 07:30 and some Saturday mornings 09:00 until 11:30 at Stoke Prior (please see reception for details).  There is no emergency capacity within any extended hours clinics, which are only accessible by a buzzer system.  Emergencies need to be seen by the Out Of Hours Service before 08:00 and after 18:30 and at the weekend.  Please note that the dispensary at Stoke Prior Surgery is not open on a Saturday morning.
